MPI Sells 22,800 SF Modern Church Facility in Chicago at Recent Auction

Millennium Properties R/E, a premier boutique brokerage and property management company, announced that it recently sold a 22,800 square foot modern church facility in Chicago’s Pill Hill neighborhood at auction. The church, located at 9011 S. Stony Island, was purchased by the Christ Apostolic Church, which will use the facility to expand its congregation.

Located at the corner of 90th and Stony Island, the two level modern church will continue to support a large congregation. The main sanctuary currently seats 400 people, but can potentially be expanded to hold 600. A large meeting room in the lower level can seat 400 and is surrounded by smaller conference rooms and classrooms.

“Our client, a local financial institution, received several offers for the facility both prior to and at our live auction,” said Daniel J. Hyman, president of Millennium Properties. “After comparing the offers, they found the bid submitted by Christ Apostolic Church to be the best due to the combination of planned use of the facility and helping to support the community.”

“Church facilities are a very unique property type; in addition to a limited pool of users, there are potential complications in closing the deal which are unique to selling to non-profit institutions,” said Brad Thompson, vice president of Millennium Properties.
