Former Dominick's Locations Still For Sale

Popular Chicagoland grocery chain Dominick’s closed its doors in late 2013, leaving many of its locations empty.  Boutique Chicago real estate firm Millennium Properties has taken over the leasing and sale of several of the chain’s former suburban stores, and is excited to help potential tenants take up occupancy in these prime locations.

Each location offers between 60,000 and 75,000 square feet of anchor retail space and are located in popular areas.  From Joliet to Carpentersville, these stores are in major retail corridors with local and national retailers nearby including Home Depot, banks, restaurants and other businesses.  These locations offer large customer parking areas as well, making them ideal for even the busiest holiday season.

One of the available locations is in the prime Oswego Commons Center, which was built in 2006, adjacent to Target and close to a Portillo’s.  Oswego has been featured in CNN Money as one of the top 100 towns to live in, and has experienced significant population growth since 2000, giving this location strong potential for great success.

While national chains such as Best Buy and Walmart would be at home in these spaces, empty big box stores can also be used for a variety of purposes other than retail outlets.  Creative business owners and entrepreneurs are finding new and unique uses for these empty spaces.  Across America, these tremendous spaces are being converted into libraries, churches, schools, even indoor ice skating rinks and sports parks!
